The AAA battery operates the ignition system and should be placed inside of the ignition assembly with the positive side facing the installer. See the owner’s manual for your heater for more details.
What if there is water damage to my heater?
Units that have had parts submerged in water should be replaced, not repaired. The gas valves, pressure regulators, and oxygen depletion systems that make gas appliances safe are exceptionally vulnerable to water damage. The dirt, debris, and corrosion that remain hidden within, after the outside has been cleaned, may lead to fire or explosion. Even if the appliance appears to be working, parts may later corrode and fail. Further, the gas supply system may have also been compromised. Installing an appliance to a gas supply system that has been under water may also be dangerous. Contact your local gas supplier to make sure your supply system is safe.
Once your pilot is lit, turn your control knob to the highest position. Leave the control knob at this setting until the room temperature reaches the desired temperature. Once this is reached, slowly turn the control knob toward the lowest setting until the burner cycles off. Leave the control knob at that position. The unit will cycle on and off around this temperature.
Does my ceiling fan/humidifier effect my heaters’ operation?
Ceiling Fans can help distribute heat, but if they are even slightly affecting the flame, you may notice sooting, odor, etc. as the disruption in air flow may cause the heater to burn improperly. A vent-free appliance should only be used in locations where the air around it is calm.
Since these appliances create humidity in normal use, you should not operate a humidifier.
Can I use a heater in my recreational vehicle?
Kozy-World vent-free gas heaters are not approved for use in recreational vehicles. The bumping up and down of an RV in transit could cause damage to the heater creating a potentially dangerous condition.
Kozy-World gas heaters may be installed in after market mobile homes where not prohibited by local codes.
Do I need professional installation?
Your heater should only be installed or serviced by a licensed gas installer.
Is it required to move the sensing bulb?
No, the sensing bulb does not need to be moved.

GAS SUPPLY & GAS CYLINDER INFORMATION
Can I use a 20-pound liquid propane cylinder?
These small cylinders should not be used with any of World Marketing’s installed gas products. The appliance's performance will drop quickly as the gas level falls in the tank, and a 20 pound tank won't last long!
One pound of gas will produce only 21,604 BTU's per hour; therefore a 30,000 BTU heater would deplete a 20 pound LP gas cylinder in under 15 hours of use.
Also, it is illegal and potentially dangerous to store a 20 pound cylinder in the home. Only small quantities of 1 pound, disposable gas cylinders are permitted inside a dwelling.
Can I use liquid propane gas on a natural gas heater or vice-versa?
If it is a Dual-Fuel or Tri-Fuel heater you may use either gas type. These Dual Fuel and Tri-Fuel heaters are preset at the factory for Liquid Propane Gas. For Liquid Propane Gas installation your installer should verify the Gas Selector Valve is turned to the LP setting. If you are going to use Natural Gas, your installer must perform the required steps detailed in the Owner’s Manual to insure proper conversions to Natural Gas. If your heater is installed to Natural Gas without proper conversion by changing the Gas Selector valve your heater will not function properly. Dual Fuel and Tri-Fuel heaters require professional installation and conversion.
If the unit is a dedicated fuel type heater, you must use the type of gas indicated on the rating plate. You cannot use liquid propane gas on a natural gas heater or vice-versa.
What if I bought the wrong gas type?
You cannot use any other gas type, other than the one specified for your heater.
Can I use utility heaters with 20-pound liquid propane cylinders indoors?
Utility Heaters with liquid propane cylinders attached cannot be used or stored indoors.
Can I use a 100-pound liquid propane cylinder?
Propane wall heaters, log sets, stoves, and fireplaces require a 100 pound LP cylinder at a minimum. This is because the vaporization rate of propane in the smaller sized tanks cannot keep up with the fuel demands of the unit. Use of smaller cylinders may cause the liquid propane in the tank to freeze the regulator which will cause the unit to shut down.
